copper to realcent.org or the junkyard?

Postby FatherRosado » Mon Apr 01, 2013 11:50 pm

For a while I've had #1 copper and #2 sitting in my office. It has to go. It's taking too much space and make my office look ugly (unless one of you sees it then it's beautiful). I'm either going to put it up on realcent.org or take it to the junkyard. What do you all think?

Probably not worth the shipping. May be better to go to the junkyard.

It would be easier to ship if you melted it down into ingots
267,500 pennies and 186,000 nickels searched. Hand sorter.

Bright hand stripped copper wire sells for WAY more per pound on Ebay than it does at my local scrap yard. These fools on Ebay even pay for shipping. If it's pretty and will fit into a large flat rate box, you might come out ahead selling it on Ebay.

+1, some even use it to make jewellery,

Nice I'm going to throw it on eBay. Thanks for the advice!

I just checked Ebay. The pretty stuff is selling for $4 to $5 a pound PLUS shipping. The not so pretty stuff is selling for $3 a pound INCLUDING shipping. Make sure you're selling the pretty stuff and take a good picture.
