Oh, wait a minute....

Postby Cent1225 » Tue Apr 16, 2013 7:55 pm

So, after dumping a pile of pennies, I am getting ready to turn and leave the bank and the teller says:
Oh, wait a minute.... Here, I have been saving these for you.
I open my empty cloth sack and she dumps these in.

$27+ in Canadian coins including pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, $1, and $2.
Also a handful of other foreign coins.

At .80 on the dollar exchange with AGgressive Metal at Commonwealth Coin & Currency, that is $21+ for me. Paid for gas for my trip.

This never happens in Canada. American coinage is accepted at par everywhere even the vending machibes and Coinstar.
Common sense should prevail if not, misery will.

That is great! I certainly hope you are taking care of that teller.. she's a keeper! This is why you always want to maintain positive relationships with your tellers.
