I "quarantine" green and otherwise gunky 95% Cu pennies into an ugly abe jar; it's still copper but I want my other pennies to be presentable. Here in NJ green pennies are very common (at least two per roll).

Will be interesting to see what the ugly penny jar will look like after a few years.

I just cleaned a bunch of those nasty kitty pissed on cents....I used hydrochloric acid, it works very fast. Nice and bright copper color when finished.

I think 5x face would be about right, Old P.T. Barnum did have a point! It took the statue of liberty 25 years to oxidize, charge ummm.
