The 2016 shields are in the wild. I just got my first ones a few days ago. For me, the new shields are late to appear this year. Has anyone else noticed this?

The new shields have been plentiful on the west coast. They started showing up mixed in circulated rolls a couple of months ago. I have already exchanged several new 2016-D boxes for rolls of circulated coins to sort.

I haven't gone through any of the pennies that have trickled in (still occassionally get
some from the credit union, just been piling them up to sort "at some point") but I have
noticed no 2016 coins at all showing up in my change here in Canada. Maybe this is
like 2009 where enough people are dumping their coin jars that the banks aren't having
to order from the mint.

Before ya take those 2016 boxes back to the bank you might wanna try ebay... $50 a box plus shipping
Some people are just plain dumb.

No...I think some people like to search them for unlisted errors. They also make a unique baby shower present
Yup...I'm a saleman...lol.

That eBay auction was from February. Prices aren't as good now. There is the short window early in the year when boxes and rolls of the new coins are in high demand but then it tapers off. I never try to take advantage of that peak selling period. Maybe next year.

Back is 2011 I was selling them for $45 shipped. I even had a regular buyer. $270 for 6 ($25 boxes). Easy money for boxes that I didn't have to sort. Those were my first ebay transactions.
