I’m not a fan of the quarters as they remained low montage til late 2012 and they cost too much to set aside. Also there are too many different types of 2009 quarters.
That said, I do think the halves might be worth something some day if the right party promotes them and due to mintages of 3 million or less most years. I’ve got a modest amount of 2002 and later NIFC halves, but it is hard to find a serious buyer for these at this time. Exception: I know someone who buys some of the dates in BU rolls.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).
NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.
