Came across some fun stuff tonight

Postby justj2k78 » Fri Apr 08, 2011 9:29 pm

My dad gave me a bag of miscellaneous coins tonight, all sorts of randomness... here's some stuff that might be interesting to the Copper forum:

Indian Heads - 1860, 1863, 1878, 1886, 1891, 1900, 1901, 1903 (2), 1906 (2), 1907 (3)

1845 (Braided Liberty?) US Penny (In really nice shape)
1866 US 2 cent

And I have probably 300-400 wheat pennies that appears mostly teens, twenties and steels to look through. Some of them are fairly worn, others are in good shape.

1916 and 1919 Canadian Penny

Also some silver ($2.90 FV), old nickels, foreign coins, that I will post in the appropriate forums... even some stuff I haven't been able to identify yet! And before you ask, no I will not sell you my Sears Liberty Centennial Token (1886-1986).

Figured I'd share!

Hope luck smiles on you too!

My Uncle recently gave me my grandfathers collection of wheats and other coins he collected. Was interesting to read the correspondence from the US Mint on the sets he ordered. And the old coin books and newspaper clippings on coins he had saved. That stuff means more than the coins do.I thought I was the only coin nut in the family. Never knew it was in the blood.
I've kept it together, even though there is little value there.
