Kind of disappointed today

Postby Chief » Tue Apr 19, 2011 4:32 pm

I had order $500 in pennies last week and they came in today. The thing is that only 3 of them are not uncirculated 2010D's. What am I supposed to do with 17 boxes of 2010D's? Any way to sell them for a profit? If so, what price could one expect? Thanks

Drop them on eBay. You could still make a nice profit. Beware the fees, though!

Use this to help determine a price. Looks like they are selling for $40 PLUS shipping

http://www.newlifeauctions.com/calc.html

You should be able to make about $8-10 a box profit.

$40 "BUY NOW" $13.50 Shipping = $10.40 profit

Thanks for your input guys. And no, I am not in Waco. Actually, I am in Omaha, NE.

At least, my $75 dollars yielded about 30% plus some wheats including a 1910.

Perhaps my disappointment will lead to a profit of $170. :P We will see. I'm tracking an auction...

to see what they go for.

I used to get dissapointed about UNC boxes too. But I have never lost money selling them on eBay, and there's no sorting involved! It's a cinch, especially once you've got an auction template set up.

Word to the wise: don't list many at once, because you'll be competing with yourself.

Thanks for the input, Economist. I really like these forums, they keep me educated about all this sorting and what comes with it. Thank you all.

With 15 minutes left on the auction, I am currently selling a box of 2011 D pennies for $46.05 plus $15 for shipping. I know ebay and paypal will carve out their fees, but I won't lose money.
