Almost gave up on CWR

Postby corky569 » Wed May 18, 2011 6:03 pm

I have never had any luck with CWR's. They are always average copper with way below average wheats. I finished sorting and selling 200.00 fv copper cents, this morning. On my way home I stopped to get a box of dimes, I asked the teller if she had ant cwr's, and she said a lot. I only had 350.00 cash so I bought a box of dimes, 50.00 in halves 35.00 in dimes, and 12.00 in cents. When I got home I started sorting, I got skunked on all the dimes and halves, but on the pennies I got 4 dimes, a 1970s bu, 1 Mexican coin, 1 Australian coin, 6 wheats, 5 Canadians, and a 1903 INDIAN!! I was stoked, this is my fourth IH since starting sorting, and my first in cwr. I guess I'll have to keep buying them!!

Winning! CWR are like scratch off lotto tickets. Hit just enough to keep you coming back.

I wish I knew, I have a whole tray full of 1970s cents. Half of them super shiny. I can't see any difference, so now I just save them!

I rather have CWR any day. Last night I had 10 rolls of 100% cu. anf the other $20 worth had 28% cu. I average @ 4 canadian pennies per roll from CWR.

I sure wish I could get customer wrapped rolls. There is no such thing around here. If you bring in any rolls around here ALL the banks require you to bust them open so they can run them through their counter. They won't even accept machine wrapped rolls.

That stinks ND. I was lazy yesterday and went through the drive through (usually go inside and ask for CWRs). She still gave me the $$ I always get every week in paper rolls. I need to just ask them their roll policy someday because more than once I have received rolls with a name and phone # written on them (in case they are short I guess.) But I wonder if they have to open the rolls and count them daily and are happy to get rid of them..

Had to chuckle on this one. I was on the site for a month before I figured it out. Maybe we should make a sticky that has all of our lingo on it.

The results of my last 3 string boxes from 3 different branches...21 total wheats. The copper was great at roughly 30%. But you have a better chance with the CWR's to find someone's dumped collection. I've found better coins(wheats-indian heads) with CWR's or bags. I don't have to many choices lately. I'd take CWR's all day long. Eventually you will score something good!
