Wheat Hoard

This guy wins hands down, but I bet some of you can give him a run for his money if comparing with copper Memorials.

See first picture: Wow that's a lot of wheats.

See second picture: **** that's a trash can.

See delayed third picture: Ok now he's just rubbing it in.

Is this the father and son team that have been advertising to buy wheat pennies for like the last 3 years??

Anyone remember their website...because I can't :(

He destroys my memorial hoard, with wheats.

Wow, I feel as though I shouldn't even call myself a collector.

I do almost have a 25 dollar string box full though.

I like the garbage can idea too, might be the route I take when I fill all the safes. 8-)

This guy DEFINITELY does not win.

Even when it comes to wheats. There are at least 4 here that have more, but who just aren't so obvious about it.

No need. Other than the guy that posted his wheats, most people like to hoard in at least relative private.

Posting your penny hoard may be questionable, but it's pretty hard to easily transport and make off with all those pennies. Posting your gold hoard makes no sense at all. Sometimes ego gets in the way of common sense I guess.

The picture is of his safety deposit box at a bank. I think he is going to be fine. ;)

Not sure if I would trust ANY bank with all those goodies.

I don't understand why people worry about posting your pennies. Nobody is going to track you down and rob you because they saw your penny collection online. Even if they wanted to, they'd have to bring a forklift. That's one of the things I love about hoarding coppers, I consider them almost theft proof, fire proof, waterproof, etc. Most theives are dumb enough that they would look right at your pennies and ignore them because they are pennies. Paper cash or gold would be way different.

On the other hand people post pictures of their cars on the internet all the time that cost $50,000 or more and include the liscense plate. All I need to steal that is a simple dealer key. Other forums I visit people post pics of their houses, their boats, their tractor, their gun collection, you name it.

well if i'm an unscrupulous person, i can assume that if you have THAT many damn wheat pennies and double eagles in the bank, you probably have other things you'd hand to me if i asked politely.

It's not theft that most hoarders fear. It is the government.

In 10 years when they value of common wheats and memorials are almost the same, he'll be upset that he did not buy from us at 1.5 to 2X face.

Right, his reasons for buying wheats are basically the exact same reason to buy memorials. He spent double what he could have. Or spend the same and get double :)

The premium on mercs is like 5% to 10%, not much. 100%+ premium on wheats though!
