I am just going by Coinflation's melt calculator: http://www.coinflation.com/coins/baseme ... lator.html

and my own personal experience of weighing them on a scale. Like Hoard said, it depends on how much wear is on the pennies.

EDIT: Oh, wait a minute. I am talking about the amout of copper in the penny. You guys are talking about the amount of wieght per penny per pound. Got it. By my reckoning, it takes $1.55 to equal a pound of copper.
When I die, I want to go like Grandpa did. He died in his sleep..... Not screaming and hollering like all the passengers in his car.

Picked up the buckets yesterday. They need to be cleaned out before i can use them for storage... :|

Also i can't seem to get the smell of condiments out of my nose. I may never enjoy a ballpark frank again until this smell goes away.

How tragic.

NDFarmer wrote:$1.00 per bucket with lids is a great deal I wish I could find some for that price. I machine roll and box all the coppers that go into my hoard but I do keep a couple of 5 gallon pails full for selling.

Where do the boxes get stored? Basement, vault, garage? I'm interested to hear if the location is air conditioned / dry, and in a stable temp...

Mine are in a not so dry location at the moment...
