1983 copper mint errors

I remember reading about 1983 copper mint error coins. Is this for real? If so, has anyone found any and what are they worth?

According to the book Strike It Rich with Pocket Change this error does exist and the coin should weigh the 3.1 grams rather than the 2.5 grams that the normal 1983 penny weighs.

As far as anyone finding this error, perhaps a good internet search could lead you to those results.

Also, 1983 has other significant errors such as DDR (2 versions) and a lesser error that is a DDO.

BTW...I like your name. There is a musical group I enjoy listening to very much called Mariachi Cobre.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:
