Sorting here is pretty much restricted to pennys and 2 pences, which where bronze between 1971 and 1991 (high copper content). Post 1992, they are copper plated steel. Makes Sorting erasy as a magnet will pluck out any non-bronze pieces!

I do this with accumulated change but have not yet gone the bank route for bags of them to sort.

Just disappointing that our final silver coins where produced before decimalisation in 1971 and thus no longer circulate. :cry:

Im Located in Mass. 20 Mins from Boston. I just started sorting pennies (Hand sorting) a few weeks ago. So far ive gone through about 75 dollars worth of pennies, and today just filled my first 25 dollar box with all copper

On a side note, I've noticed a lot more local competition recently- tellers saying someone just came in and took all our halves, etc....
