Hello All!

Does anyone know of a industrial/commercial High Volume machine that seperates copper pennies from the zinc? Who manufactures and sells this type of machine. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Look into the Ryedale Apprentice. There are many other threads on here if you do a search. They are very long lasting machines and they are fast. You can run a few at a time if you really want to go through some cents. Welcome to the forum!

How much volume are you talking about? Where are you gonna dump all that zinc?

There are commercial sorters out there that can sort pennies. They are expensive and people who have them are tight lipped about them.

To justify running/owning one would require you to be sorting $2000+ a day.

My 4 Ryedales can handle $2000 in 3 +/- hours.

Then you need to get rid of $1500 in zinc.

The guy who was that news piece about copper prospectors might have information about the machine he uses.

I appreciate the replies from all of you! I am talking about running 500-600 thousand coins per day. I just thought I would ask in this forum to see if someone could point me in the right direction or may have one available? I have no problem getting rid of the zincs. Thanks for the picture of the "Super Sorter" I am well aware of it also I just wish I could persuade Brinks to sell me one! I think we all know that will never happen. Come on, spill the beans. You can't tease up like this and not give us more details.

I've encountered machines in banks that give the receipt broken down by coin, and they break cents down between zinc and copper. I'm sure they're pricey, and they wouldn't do the volume you're talking about. I'm guessing the company that makes them has the ability to make them sort copper from zinc as well.

Your best bet would be to get get a bunch of common sorters in series, would be cheaper too since you'll be able to negotiate a better price if you're buying 5 at once.

That's what I'm working on right now, not going to bother with commercial equipment.

There are plenty of sorters/counters available everywhere however finding a Reliable industrial sorter that seperates cooper from zincs has proven difficult.

That's not the time to save a few dollars. It will Definatley end up costing you later

Looks like slickeast's 4 rydales can do what you want to do per day. Its sounds like he could do $5333 per 8 hr day. Thats the 500,000 coins you wanted to do per day.

Or run 8 Ryedales and go home early And don't forget to upload a video once you get it set up

then you need a crew to unstop jams when they come up. Ryedale is good for a scale that most people are on. When you talk about doing 5 ten grand, you better rethink your plans before you go out and buy 10 ryedales....

I agree. Running 4 is tough. I would not want to try running $5000 in one day through 4 Ryedales. Much less everyday.

I just hope your dump banks are no where near me

All you need to do is contract with a few dozen Ryedale operators. Let us worry about the maintenance.

Take a look at the Talaris Mach series sorters.

(Talaris, formerly DeLaRue, formerly Brandt)

The Mach6 does 3,000 coins a minute and the Mach9 series does 4500 coins a minute; both are available with coin recognition.

(They call it their WAVE technology)

I worked at Brandt/DelaRue for a decade. The coin recognition was able to separate copper from zinc already back in 1999.

These are expensive machines though.
