Scored on my dump today!!!!!

Postby baggerman » Fri Dec 23, 2011 2:42 pm

Went to dump a couple of bags today and the counter screwed up so the teller came over and opened it up and gave me what was jamming it up, an ounce of silver! It is a sunshine round and pretty beat up but still a real score. The other coins were handed to me at the same time from the magnet.

And I was happy with my .81 cents extra I got on a $1775 dump of halves and nicks. Oh well it's .81 cents more then I brought in.

Sweet. Looks like a pure nickel French Franc as well.

It is a 1967 1/2 franc, is it pure nickel?

Yes, the 67 1/2 franc is pure Ni. Great score. Man, I have never scored an oz of silver off of a counter. Great job!

Umm nice score!! My first thought however was rather amusing to myself. Recently a hand/worker that I work with telling me about his wife and how she had lost one of her Gold "teef" and swallowed it. A few days later sho nuff it turned back up :) I naturally connected the two when I saw your title..........

Can't understand why people put this junk through coin counters. Can't even deposit that big round chunk of metal at the bank.

My little guy's piggy bank has a few copper and silver rounds in there from birthday. Most of these were gifts from the GREAT members of this forum. I can just see the EX trying to dump the whole thing at the bank....if she could get her hands on it. I can see it happening.

Whoa...almost like those stories about the Salvation Army finding gold coins in the kettle. Of course, those coins were deliberately put there.
I did it. I've been crazy enough to sort through 10,000 rolls of pennies. Almost makes you think, "some people will do anything to build up a coin collection."

Good point... it doesn't even have a face value does it? I have a friend who is a bank teller... she sold me a silver eagle she bought for "face value"
