Today at a Chase bank we got $20 in CWR and all the rolls had a small x on them. When we ran them the were all zinc but there was ten 1982 cu. Look like Eagle Point Oregon has a hand sorter!

I got three penny rolls that said WHEAT CENTS on them a while back. Guess what wasn't in them.

We went back to the same bank and more marked rolls. They had $100 CRW and they were all marked. When I asked were they came from and they said a older disabled man had brought them in the same man as the last rolls. They the tellers ask what he was looking for and he said just some dates. He told them he had found a silver dime and a 1906 IH that week.The last time I looked through his rolls the only was CU were 1982. So I quickly opened a roll and it was about 20 percent CU.So we bought them all. I told the vault teller she could give him my number to see if we could give him a hand with some dates if he is filling a folder. It might be a nice way to get some CU.
This week rolls-- PS he missed a wheat.

Back before I located a coin machine at a bank to dump I used to roll them back up to return.
I would label them with a Z to identify them as ZINC. Pretty straight forward for the newbie
to figure out quick when getting them from the teller. I can hear them saying to the teller
"Well on second thought you can keep those rolls".

Maybe I should start writing Silver on my dime rolls that I still return rolled. LOL

I have cashed in a few half rolls with "SILVER" written on them. The tellers were fumbling all over themselves to get them open and "verify" them. She asked me where I go them and I told her my dear aunt had just passed away and they were in her belongings. Of course they were all clad from my previous weeks bag of halves. This happened to me 4 days ago; I got $25 worth of CWR pennies and went home. Then I noticed that almost all of them had the same person's initials. Hmmm. I checked 3 or 4 rolls and sure enough, they were all zinc. And I should have known better, because I remember one of my regular tellers informing me a few weeks ago that they have a regular older guy that comes in and orders new penny boxes; she even said that he came in excited last week, as a box had lots of older copper coins. What I didn't know was that he was dumping at the same pickup bank! Stupid move on his part. Anyway, they had around $100 in pennies in the back; I intentionally returned them to the same bank the next day, as I didn't want to deposit them at an alternate bank. The bottom line: some people are learning and starting to catch on.

3 X's on my searched and dumped rolls (XXX) down here in southwestern Virginia. If anybody comes across those, ain't gonna find anything worthwhile in them. Just educating...

Back to the X bank today they had $80 of CRW most marked with the "X" but the teller said oh look I need to mark out the customer name "Wheat leaves" she then said looks like you have some winners. We got five rolls solid with five of them pre 40. Just think we had thought about dropping this bank thinking it was someone's else dump bank!

Seems the guys that dump zincs into bank machines are the polite ones here. No rerolling here.

Got more X rolls and also these the teller sail from the same customer who has been dropping off the x marked rolls.

Today I went to break open the roll in the above post and dump them in the CU orange bucket and a roll had been marked 1972-D and had 25 Wheats from the early 40s and the rest CU for all years.

A few days ago I went to get some pennies and all they had were CWR's (or so the teller told me), and against my better instincts I took them ($100). Anyway she put them in a Brinks' box for me and when I got them home I weighed them. One weighed 16# and the other 17#. So I checked out a few rolls, liked what I saw and dug into the rest. The 16# box was over 85% copper and the other was well over 90%. I came away with over 100 wheat from one and over 50 in the other. That was some good fortune.

The previous time I got CWR's I found only 10% copper in that box. That's why I weigh them. It's a good indication of what kind of luck you have. A 14# box will garner you about 20% copper. Anything less depends on my mood. Still 10% is better than nothing, I don't mind because when I can't sleep I will go through the light weight boxes and watching late night tv.
