Wow, very interesting. Just reinforces what is going on here.

IMHO, the new COPPER ETFs will push COPPER over $4. This announcement should be similar to the time when the PALLADIUM ETFs were first announced. PALLADIUM rose from $350 to $450 in anticipation of the metal accumulation by the ETFs. That was about a 25% rise. A similar rise would provide impetus for COPPER to rise from around $3.80 to $4.75....

Note that COPA is a COPPER ETF available right now for trading on the London Stock Exchange.

I agree the paper offering should create a bit of a increase in copper prices; however, I personally would prefer to have the real thing in my hands. I just don't have much faith in paper these days.

While I'm all for starting a copper ETF, I would not plan on buying or going long on it. Rather just have the physical stuff myself.

Though, I think it would be interesteing to use as a hedge againest physical copper holdings. I realize that most people here are bullish on copper long term. However, again, I think it provides an interesting opperunity to hedge bets. Just an idea.
