Lincoln with a Flat top & No lip and No neck

Postby Cent1225 » Mon Mar 19, 2012 10:50 pm

Just thought you guys would like to see this 1974-D cent.
Lincoln has a part of his hair missing on the top back portion of his head.
He has no lower lip and no neck.
His coat collar is also barely perceptable.
I am sure this is just a poor strike, but interesting.
Enjoy.

I love seeing odd stuff like this. Just tonight I went through a roll that I had accumulated over time, marked "cent errors." Off center, clipped planchets, blank planchets, broken die filled mint marks or dates, strange coloration, weak strikes, struck through grease, lamination, thin planchets, broadstrikes...
PM sent.

Yepper those are cool and they are set aside for further examination. I think I traded one similar to Abe. No neck at all...but not sure about the flat-top!

Cool!

That's freaky!

An aging Lincoln portrait. Dorian Grey?

Damn! Now I have something else to look for. This will slow me down even more. Already backed up on pennies by over $500.00. I HATE YOU FOR BRINGING ME THE POSSIBILITY OF MORE VALUE IN MY COIN SEARCHES! :D :D ;)

Uncle Abe let himself go.

The reason these two coins are like this is b/c one is a small date and one is a large date. both of the coins pictured are 74's right? If so these are just normal coins two different variety's
