Went to the bank with my daughter and picked up a few to hand sort with her... the Ryedale can wait for today. I spotted two very old looking rolls, and said to the teller, hey those look nice, don't they! I wonder what kind of stuff is in them! Check them out:

Went next door to have a dilly bar with her, and put the rolls in the van, minus those two. Dumped them out on the counter, and what do I see? Nice... bright... shiny... zincs. Dated from the mid 90's through about 2006. One nice looking 1980, also quite bright and shiny, so probably inserted by accident.

It seems I may have encountered a hand sorter. With rolls I've never seen before. And with bad vision?

Another promising looking roll... (maybe there was a little photo-shop used on this roll). But it would definitely get your attention if you saw it in the bank teller's drawer. If any RCer has a CTU or roll with only BU 1909S V.D.B's., I will pay 4X face value for it right now :D .

If you look closely at the scribbled-out part, they both actually say NEW.

WOW! You're right. It does say "new". Someone knew what they were doing when they dumped them off at the bank. But why go through the trouble of scribbling out the word "new"? Guess we will never know. I have to tell you... if I saw those rolls in the cashier's drawer, I would have bought them as fast as possible. They really do look promising. But then again, if there were 2 brand new looking rolls in the drawer, I would have bought them also. You just never know what's inside a CWR.

Recycling the wrapper, maybe a way to indicate the roll was searched.....
