Might wanna try to get an empty gallon container of what your looking for and fill it with coppers at home and weigh it.

Containers can be very subjective, 145 coppers per pound

Correct- Take a empty milk gallon container and fill it up with copper pennies then multiply by how big your tubs are- in this case 14 gallons correct?

You just made me realize something. Are you trying to figure out how many pennies are in a 5 gallon bucket? Because if you are, please let me know. I'm on my third one now and I haven't a clue how much copper I have. You know what? I'm gonna go try to figure this out right now.

ok after taking my wife's measuring cups (she's at work she doesn't need to know of this) my rough estimates came out to about $287 in a 5-gallon jug. Due to the rounded nature of the measuring cups though and their small base, I would assume that the actual number is around $300. Of course the whole thing is dependent on how the pennies stack up and the shape of the container. in a round 1 gallon jug I guess about $60? if it's a milk jug, quite a bit less if you can't fit pennies in the handle and things like that.

If anyone has better numbers please let me know. I've never payed attention to my sorting numbers but now I'd like to give myself an estimate to my numbers.

If the bucket is full and you can put a lid on it...right around $250 fv....piled high nearly $300 fv...I have counted numerous times using my Brandt. So you nearly have or have $750 US fv...way to go!

Yay thank you. Good to know. Glad to see my estimates weren't horribly off either.

Each one of these weighs 32.5 to 33 lbs, depends on how well I pack it. The container weighs 8 ounces. I have a bunch of them :D

You can fit more if you try, but a gallon should comfortably hold $60 worth of pennies, or 40 pounds worth.

ive wondered the same thing. i wonder how accurate this is as a measure seeing as how someotimes the pennies stack wel and other times they dont stack as well.
