I keep them in different bags so that I will have to resort later.

Nope. Way too type A for that.

I even sort the Canadians by CU content. Who's with me?

Almost. I don't sort by Cu content, but I do sort them by their weight.

Just a thought with the Canadian government planing to melt all the cents they get back from the banks later this year one would think that the Canadian cents might be worth more to collectors that just melt in a few years. We tube by year and type.

nothing state that you will be able to melt both at the same time also there should be a play on selling the Canadians outright once the withdrawning take place.

Back in 2007 when I was in noob mode on Realcent I never sorted Canadians out, kept them with US copper because of A. the higher purity and B. heavier weights in most cases that no one would care when it came to cash in. One factor that also played a important part was the lack of Canadian copper to even be worth separating.

Now its the exact opposite, I sort into these categories:
1980-1996
1965-1979
Young Queens 1964 and Earlier
King George VI
King George V

So yeah its a matter of taste and desire to sort. Some buyers are picky of PURE US copper with no impurities, even if its better like Canadian stuff

I thought I was the only one who mixed US and Canadian coppers. I recently started keeping KGV and KGVI Canadians out of the copper bin, though. I see them as the wheaties and Indians of Canada. 8-)

Type A here as well.

I've always separated US and Canadian coppers.

I also separate the Canadians by date... I love the old KGV's and KGVI's.

RIP Canadian cents. Today is a sad day for me... and I don't even live in Canada.
