vacation plans

I have the week off, my first vacation since I started handsorting a year ago. I work 12 hour days 5 days a week, so a vacation should be a trip or something....NOPE I am gonna try to hit all 15 branches of my CU and buy at least $20 from each( or whatever they have) and get a stockpile to sort.I can only sort on weekends with my schedule, so this should give me a supply for awhile. I am of a mind that if I have the time to grab enough bank rolls now to get me through a few months of sorting, the overall percentage should be better if you figure the coppers are weeded out over time? anyway all hail the sickness, a PENNY vacation...

That should be fun....but i would imagine you could get more than $20 from each branch...i have a new connection at a bank im not even a member at and i get a $50 bag and $25 box from them once a week.

Almost $140. Not a bad start. If you don't get a lot from a bank, ask if they will have more on another day. Perhaps a return trip may be warranted. Keep us posted.

Not only am I sorting, I am sorting vicariously through others. Is that so wrong? :?

It might seem more like a vacation if you had a Ryedale... and you could pump through 10 times the copper too. Best of luck to ya brother... enjoy your vacation :)

Sounds like a great vacation. Like many vacations though, you may run out of money before you run out of vacation. You might consider an optivisor with a a light on the headband for handsorting. Only a geeky penny sorter could wear this sort of thing, but it does keep both hands free for sorting. Be sure to remove it before leaving the house.

optivisor? I think its the same as my loupe( light switch, 3 lenses for different magnification) oh well I was trying to post image of it and cant figure it out, Ill take some help there also!! ANYWAY hit the last two credit unions, these were the farthest away, never been to either( about a 50 mile round trip) the first one I ask for at least $20 or as many as they can spare... wow I dont know, a guy came in an hour ago and bought a bunch the teller says.. oh yeah another says, hes a regular! DAMMIT anyone here from batavia NY?? they scrounged up $20, and I got $40 in the last branch, so I have about $430 or so, which should last me a couple months. thanks guys!! PS I did almost wear the loupe on my head while answering the door, but remembered at the last minute!!
