Copper penny shipping

Postby RD5 » Thu May 10, 2012 8:43 pm

Has anybody given any thought to how heavy some flat rate boxes get while shipping pennies? I wonder how much somebody has fit into one of those things. I laugh thinking about a postal person having to deliver alot of those to the same house. What are your thoughts?

First thought; DON'T let the postal person see you laugh ;).

I've shipped two, three, and four $25 Brinks cent boxes in medium flat rate boxes. The four box shipment came REAL close, 69.4 lbs., to the weight limit of 70 lbs. I won't do it again as it really made the USPS people work harder than they should have.

I thought there was a sticky around here tht was put together nicely that explains what we do. We commonly refer to 100.00 face around here as a CTU as it will fit into a Medium Flat rate box and most of the time ship securely....if you know what your doing :) The tips and tricks on here are great cause most of here have already been through the growing pains of shipping including myself.
