I live in Southern Illinois and have quiet a few to sale. I am a small time hand sorter with too much time on my hands. I enjoy going through the pennies and removing the wheats. I have found a 1909 vdb and just last night found a 1922D. It relaxes me as I am retired however it does cost to retrieve and dump my zincs. I have pennys for sale only for pickup. If anyone has a interest they can PM me. I wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial day, and ask you to remember what this is really all about. And I pray for our troops in harmsway.

Based on your username I assume you were in the Marines. If so, thank you for your service and enjoy the day dedicated to those that gave their lives for our way of life.

I think he may be from Marine, IL, which is right on I-70. How much would you want to sell your copper cents?

Catfish I was a Marine however I am from Marion,Illinois in what is known as Bloody Williamson County. In the thirties it was complete lawlessness its a little better today. The second Illinois state trooper to be killed in the line of duty was killed with his wife by the Birger Gang.

OK. I know the area well. I worked for Charlie Crisp at Marion Pepsi in the 1990's and several years ago dated a girl from Marion. I wrote a college research paper on the Charlie Birger gang. (to the other poster Charlie Birger and his gang were active in Southern Illinois during prohibition in the 1920's.) I had thought marine70 was Marine Illinois on interstate 70............ my mistake.

Hi Marine,

I believe that Misteroman is always buying copper cents. I'm not sure what part of NY he lives in. Overall finding local buyers right now is a tough thing.

I found a local buyer on Craigslist here in Phoenix. He'll buy one CTU for $140 anytime I am willing to sell them. It's great, because I just weigh out 68lbs of pennies with my handy luggage scale in a reusable shopping bag, drive 3min to Starbucks and we do the exchange in the parking lot. No packing or shipping. It doesn't get much easier than that :D
