I need to buy a scale for weighing 82s and silver coins. What would be a good scale to buy? Do I need something that goes to the hundredth of a gram or is tenth okay?

tenth of a gram should be fine for 82s and silver. mine doesn't even do tenths and it works fine.

Anyone have recommendations for a specific model? Some of them have a lot negative reviews on Amazon and I'd like to make sure I get something that isn't defective... as cheap as possible as long as it works... well I guess that goes without saying...

That looks like a deal to me. I just bought one to keep in my truck. No more forgetting my scale at home! Thanks for the link.

Unfortunately, yes. Ebay and paypal partnered up several years back, and now they only allow paypal payments to keep the money flowing into them, and out of your account.

Hm. Have you had any problems with it? There are kind of a lot of negative reviews. And I would have to by a calibration weight, which is another $8...

I haven't had a problem with mine, and the calibration weight I bought measures spot on every time, so I wouldn't put too much emphasis on getting one right away.

Mine is from Harbor Freight. http://www.harborfreight.com/1000-gram- ... 97920.html

I use it for coins a lot and have no issues with it. I check it's accuracy occasionally with known weights (cents, qtrs, halfs, etc). It has not needed calibration.

If you are near a retail store, use a 20% off coupon, get your scale for under $10 and get a free LED flashlight to go along with it.
