Interesting commentary on deflation/inflation argument

I try to codify things as black and white, and thus keeping grey area issues at bay. I happened upon this post on reddit:

I think continuing to stack copper cents is a fairly safe and practical way to handle the deflation/inflation conundrum. It is one way to eliminate the grey area of how to prep for monetary panic. You still have face value to spend/invest if deflation of assets occur. Conversely, we already have a 250% of face value price holding somewhat steady on the pre-'82 copper cent and that might climb if inflation climbs.

Ultimately, converting depreciating assets to hard metals, either precious or base, like copper, nickel, might be better than a band-aid for any upcoming "unforeseen" black-swan event.
