1st Silver dime x 2!

Yesterday my daughter was sweeping in the family room where we sort pennies. I heard her pushing a coin around, and I told her to pick it up before she scratched the wood floor. She picked it up and said, "Mom, what coin is this?" Sure enough it's a rough looking 42 merc. :o The first one I've seen in the wild. My husband and I have been pondering where it came from. It had to have been in the pennies we were sorting, but we are not sure how it was missed or how it ended up on the floor under the couch.

Later that day, my same daughter was finishing off our last penny box. She unwrapped a bank wrapped roll and started laughing. She said it was her lucky silver day! 1943 on the right was in the roll.

I've found plenty of recent, non-silver dimes in penny rolls, but never any silver ones. LUCKY!

That is the more likely answer.   Do you know me?
This house is 107 years old, but I just moved the furniture 3 weeks ago, so it wasn't one of those finds.

You should invite everyone over to clean your house! Bet it will be the cleanest on the street!

107 years :o . You might find some cool stuff in the yard when you get your metal detectors.

But I guess you don't need a MD when you have mercs rollin around the floor and fallin out of penny rolls.

That is awesome! I was remodeling a room in my house and a 1963 dime fell out the ceiling (along with a bunch of dust and other things).
