Just opened up a $25 String box of pennies and as I was checking ends for wheats I found a roll with a 1941 front showing. I thought, nice........then I turned it over and the other side has a 1941 front showing as well. What are the odds? Cant wait to open this roll, but it will most likely be downhill from there.

Here's a scan of both sides:

To qualify as ebay material, first you have to open the, check them, take anything good out. Then send them to some guy in California, have him reroll them, and then sell them as unsearched

Does it have a similar feeling to opening a cello box and finding a cello with the same star on top & bottom? LOL. Great find and I bet you can't wait to see what lies within  .

Are you two referring to baseball cards? "One to keep, one to trade!" Yeah, I remember that...

Hey what's the deal? I get so hyped up when I get a String box...the first thing I do is check all of the holes on the bottom ofthe box to look for wheats on the roll ends or to my bad luck, which has happened, a solid skunk box from 1990. Next I open the box and take a peek at the top of the rolls. Any wheats looking at me...I save for last...like desert! Now it's alot harder with the Brinks boxes since the rolls are loaded horizontally. I have emailed Brinks about this to let them know they are messing with my OCD! I haven't had any replies from them as of yet....bummer!

Sorry for the delay in responding guys, but as I figured, there was nothing notable between the 1941s.

What about the 09? Did it have an S or a VDB on it? Or better yet both?

Now that was one cool find!!!

It would be fun to just be able to get that kind of box with that type of roll in them. I can get Brinks boxes with the plastic wrapped pennies or I get CWRs individually.

I think I would do the same thing...save the rolls with any wheats showing for the end as something to definitely look forward to.

Enjoy your coin searches, everyone. :geek:
