what is the most valuable coin/item found during a search.

I have found 2 $2.5 gold indian heads, a 1911 large cent, 1857 O liberty seated dime, and several other things. My partner has found a Krugerand though.

I have pulled three 99 WAMS and sold them at a total of about $550 less fees myself......but nothing.....I say nothing out does the gold.

wow gold! what were you searching when you found gold?

I think the gold IH' s were found mixed in with pennies.

I found a 1972 type 2 eisenhower once.

Ok searching rolls-nothing big money yet....but you should have seen the piles of stuff in the street after Katrina!(New Orleans) Lots of coin,silver gold you name it was pulled out of flooded dressers,chests that were thrown into the street unsearched....my best coin score? an 1873 S Quarter in EF. Lesser finds 6 Morgan/peace dollars,a few %90 quarters and dimes and LOTS of flooded Penny jars....

What I really mean is I haven't found anything outstanding, EVER.

Nothing very good so far here with 2 weeks into this hobby.

24 wheats yesterday, probably 35 wheats altogether.
All of them in the 1940s and 50s.

I found a 2000 wide AM penny yesterday. Not very valuable, but it was pretty cool to find.

...nut'in spectacular on my part but I don't really look either...just sort out the copper and dump the zincs...However I did find 33 dimes in ten CWR's of cents but then Copper Catcher has that beat...

I remember a member finding a 1955 DDO that was sent in...I think Highroller wins the tropy here with his gold coin find x 2.

Maybe that was it? Either way a 1909 S VDB or a 55DD are both worth more than my two gold peices

Individually, I haven't had a truly amazing find. I've gotten lucky on searching halves, and a few months ago I found a 1913-S in my pennies. Wheats have been very generous to me, though. Just in this year, I've found 1142 Wheats. Couldn't have come close without the help of the Ryedale.

1883 Dime from the Kingdom of Hawaii.

The most valuable coin I've found is a Austria-Hungary gold ducat in some pennies (.1107 troy ounces). The second most valuable is a bit tougher to say, maybe it's the beat up 1921 half I came across.

(2) 1909 S wheats cents & a 1931 s wheat cent.

Probably the 1922 Canadian Penny I found. It has a very low mintage and it's not too beat up so I think it's worth about $25

I saw one on eBay sell for about $35 several months ago.

That 3 cent piece was probably one of my most valuable finds

Just Like Rode....found '2' 1999 Wide AM's in great shape...but haven't sold them....yet! They will be on the market real soon!

I've found 5 1999 Wide AM cents, all of which have been sold for between $100 -$175 or so.
I also found a 1995 or 1996 Olympic swimming commemorative half dollar that I sold on ebay for over $100
a couple of full rolls of Ben Franklin & Walking Liberty halves one time.

I've never found any GOLD though!
