Order of the Eastern Star Penny

Postby Pennysaved » Thu Dec 23, 2010 2:15 am

I found a 1964 penny tonight with a pentagram etched on it; You can see little details etched in the center of the pentagram and on each point of the pentagram. I googled it and the symbol is the seal of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Has anyone else found these?

They use it in an initiation ceromony.

2.8 cents melt
If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.

In probably 500 or so dollars I sorted in pennies a few years ago I found two wild indians, a handful of plastic pennies, a fake 1943 copper wheat cent, and probably 5-6 really cool counterstamped, star pennies, and other misc. They were about as fun as finding the indians. I kept them all because in the end they were the treasures. Not to mention the dimes you find in the rolls from time to time :-)
