Oh Noes, threw my Zincs in the Copper jug!

So I was tired and threw the wrong handful in my jug.

Had to rescan 18 lbs of coppers.

My intent was to fill up this 5 gallon ozarka water jug because, well huge jugs of pennies look cool.

Now I put the scanned coppers into another container to prevent the same happening again.

If I make the same mistake Ill have no more than 5 or 10 lbs to rescan next time.

If you are new you might want to use 2 jugs. An ongoing hoard and a final and completed hoard.

The 18 lbs I had were close to 100% accurate, minus the handful of zincs.

I made a similar mistake early on and quickly learned from my mistake.

I've always worried I would do this. I've prolly sorted 15k in pennies, and never thrown copper in my zinc or vise versa.

"Think before you dump your zinc, and remember to dump your copper proper."

That's actually a pretty good line considering I just made it up!

I hated that. But dont worry, when you get the Ryedale, just run them through and it will only take a little bit to fix that problem, at least thats what I did. Otherwise, have your main Cu Bucket and then use a temporary one and every so often, unload it into the main one. So if you do this, you will have very little to resort then....

I just went through 80 rolls, quickly put the cops in the finished bucket.

Got about $10 face copper, 15 wheats to 1938 and a few Canucks.

My hoard grew to 24.6 lbs.

Invested 4 hersheys bar in the tellers.

A very wise investment. It's all about respect. Show it and some appreciation and it will get your very far.
It works on nurses too. Anytime I've had a loved one staying in the hospital made sure to drop off cookies or candy at the nurses’ station. You'll often be treated very well. I once asked where I could find a soda machine. A nurse took me to their kitchenette and said take anything that isn't marked

I can't tell you how many times, in the beginning, that the zincs got tossed in the copper pile or the coppers into the zinc pile. I've worked out various routines handsorting to stop this from happening. It does still happen to this day...but I'm getting alot better. The key is to not get distracted. WHICH IS HARD FOR ME! But I do double check them before I roll them up or tape the loose boxes up. Those wheats and indian heads throw me off sometimes, too!

I'm with you there Hoard. I got a box of nickels last week to prove to myself there was nothing good coming from searching them. 3/4 of the rolls searched and my hypothesis is holding up well.
