Went the bank today and got 4 bags ($200). I hand check all the bags to make sure they aren't someone elses dump and I pulled out a handful of wheats out of one of the bags.
After a Ryedale sort and hand sort I ended up with $9.89 in wheats.

Breakdown:
1911 x2
1912
1917 x3
1918 x3
1919 x2

1920's - $.16
1930's - $.36
1940's - $3.76
- 1943 x12
1950's - $5.50
Can - 1933

I was happy enough I had to share.
Cheers,
Zig

Nice pick up!

Seems like most of the pre 40s wheats end up in the zinc rejects. How do you do your sorting to ensure you get all the wheats?

I sort with a zinc accept on the ryedale on a fairly sensitive setting which I have dialed in over the last few years. Which dumps all the copper, steel, dirty zinc, most old wheats into my reject pile.
I then hand sort all the rejects and pull out wheats, zinc, CANs, Red everything, and 68-74 S mints.
I find the ryedale is extremely accurate but still on occasion misses a few old wheats, so on big scores like this I save the Zincs and when i get time return to hand sort those as well.
So I may have a jewel hidden yet to be found.
I have searched around $200 in zincs over the last couple weeks and haven't found a wheat yet, so overall I don't sweat it.

After going through most of the zinc rejects I found:
1937 Wheat
1909 Wheat - no VDB
1938 CAN

Good thing I saved them, I would have missed that 1909. :)
