Copper Cent Index

Postby silverflake » Thu Sep 05, 2013 7:28 pm

Anyone know where I can find a measurement of how much bulk copper cents are selling for on ebay over time? The currencydebasement site that used to run one seems to have stopped tracking as of june 2012.

Thanks in advance.

Anybody? Anything at all?

By the way, what happened to currencydebasement.com? Why isn't their index up to date? Does some one need to take over running it?

I dont know what currencydebasement.com is, but are you saying you don't want to check eBay's completed listing yourself? Perhaps I should check your fridge for you to see if you're out of milk?

currencydebasement.com used to have an index (like the S&P index) over time of ebay completed sales of copper pennies sold in at least $100 face value lots. It was a great way to keep up with the trending price of copper cents separate from the price of copper. Great tool. Yes, I could go into my ebay completed sales listings but this was a chart, and index. Handy and quick. Trends were readily visible.

What's with the milk thing? I guess if I wanted to monitor the trending price of milk I could go into my fridge periodically and if I was out I could go to the store, check the price I pay, write it down and plug it into a spread sheet. But...udder waste of time for me. Would not be a moooving experience.

I just liked the tool. Perhaps I could make one myself, I guess. I don't build a stock market tracker either knowing I have sites to go to in order to see what the Dow or S&P is doing.

But if anyone hears of a copper cent price index anywhere, let me know.

Oh man, congrats to your Black Hawks, JonasCollegFund. GRRR...will look up currencydebasement member - thanks for the lead. I should get a photo of my fridge - plenty of milk and with two teen boys, I am probably driving the price of milk right now. Perhaps I will put together a milk index....

Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?
Why buy a ctu when you can get valued-added currency for free?
