That is pretty cool.... I would keep em. Any one know what they are made out of? Are they zincs? Cut one in half.

If memory serves, they started putting these in the MINT (not proof) sets in 1984. And they are from the same blanks as the cents, so they would be zinc.

Way too cool. Hang on to all of them. So unusual of a find, thats they are worth to keep. No matter if zincs or coppers.

Those tokens are great 'junk box' fodder for anyone who does shows. They tend to sell for around $1 each which makes Ebaying them one at a time fairly useless, but if you put them up as a lot, I'm sure they're worth more than $0.22. Sweet find.

very cool find. I have a nice box of misc stuff I've found when I used to have Two Ryedales. The best part of sorting was finding all the random items. Fun to look back 5 years from now when you've got a huge jar of stuff.

It looks like, from the pictures I've scrounged up online, that these were included in mint sets from 1984 to 1999. My guess is people are digging out all those 1999 sets they bought when the state quarter rush started, finding out they're not worth a thousand dollars yet, and busting the coins out. I have one from each mint in my cent collection. That's a pretty unique find. At least 11 mint sets worth in one roll! Were they half D and half P? And I'm still curious... what else was in the roll?

Sounds to me like you got cheated. Sorry to be a Negative Nelly but you can't even spend these things. PLus they are without a doubt hurting your copper percentages. JK kind of.

I didn't really find these in ones I got from circulation. I fixed a friend's mom's computer and she gave me about $5 in rolled pennies plus some cash and homemade cookies for fixing it for her. So I'm not out anything really. There might have been proof coins in with these but I didn't care and threw them in with the zincs.
