sad news from my credit union

My credit union has coin counters (free) in all their branches, and I've enjoyed using them for a few months...carefully...never more than once a week at each branch, only $50 each time. At my last deposit the teller politely told me this is the last month they will be waving the fee (it's a Coinstar but they waive the fee when you deposit to your account). OH NO! Me so sad. A good thing comes to an end.
I'm going to wallow in depression now in my garage next to my buckets of zinc...

Last time for you, or everyone? Not sure where you live, but it would be bad for me if my only dump credit union (which has multiple branches) started charging for coin counting.

Last time for everyone, not just me, and across all the branches (half dozen or so) apparently. I'm in the SF bay area. Actually they literally said going forward they'll waive the fee only for child accounts. My wife joked that I should open up an account for my nephew. Not a bad idea actually...

to see more and more of this. My CU put a $300 a day limit. Now I go to 3 branches since the limit is per branch. That is $900 in zincs per day.
Shop around and see if you can find a different bank. Call all that are in the phone book and ask. They might give you a good lead.

It's probably Hoards fault. I'll bet he was dumping too many zincers.

Nah, I almost never dump at my CU.. which is a different one than Gollums. It kills me to feed zincs into a machine that is 10 times slower than the machinery I have at home. Plus, my CU is only open M-F while I am at work. Maybe I can get an account for Gollum there.
Looks like this is the month of the big dump at the CU for Gollum. Not like he has to worry about getting cut off now. I think his nephew just recently developed an interest in penny sorting.

Maybe I should open an account at that other CU and do all my dumps there for the month of January.. then close the account next month. Which CU is it?

Dump, Deposit and hit their ATM for a withdrawal on the way out. Two can play that game you just need a little extra to float.
I am looking for another dump bank or two to play that game with.

LOL too funny!
Along with that irritating sound.
Its a good time to scoop up the rejects from the reject bin.
Im still looking for an IHC there..not that I would miss one.
I was wondering what to make as a signature until now.

hopefully you will find another free spot ... if not better invest in a coin wrapper
