Great Article on Indian Cents

Postby Morsecode » Sun Dec 22, 2013 11:09 pm

In Coins magazine, November issue. Unfortunately, their website...www.coinsmagazine.net...chose not to republish it, but this part made me laugh...

"In 1903 almost everyone was searching for cents dated 1902 because of a rumor that a Mint worker had dropped a gold bar into the smelter, resulting in cents with gold content"

I don't remember what date they were, but some Indian cents do exist that were struck on planchets intended for the 2 1/2 dollar gold piece. A true "golden" cent!

The Buy it Now is tempting, but I'm turned off by the $48,600 sales tax.

Seriously...what's up with that?
