I dumped $15 FV in copper pennies at the bank today. I think that $15 is put to better use in silver right now.

Not a bad idea.
A few months ago, before I found a regular buyer, I dumped $200 in copper. I needed a new water pump in my car. :(
That's what I like about hoarding pennies, if you have a good dump bank you can easily cash out if you need to.

I had to liquidate a large portion of the US coppers that I had, due to financial reasons.... :x

However, I still have a decent amount of the Canadians left, and so the slow process of rebuilding my coppers begins again.

On the bright side, once the financial need was met, I was able to add to my silver stack, so not all was lost!

Ran into some health issues and had to dump at least $500 face. But that was long ago.

A great dump bank is an incredible asset to have doing this.

You can always find more copper cents as time allows. I have waffled over dumping the copper stack and using the cash to add to my IRA or buy silver or towards a replacement car but I hold off until I really need to liquidate.

This is very true, and I have already started (very slowly). I'll save them as I find them in change or whatever. I've focused more upon my silver stack at this point. I still have a decent amount of Canadian coppers, so all is good!

I don't know if I will go back to penny box sorting though. I'd rather finish my nickel collection first and see what I find.

I got about $25 in really dirty coppers, I'm thinking about dumping them.

Anyone near, around or about the general Syracuse NY area that wants/needs/has to dump their (not really dirty) coppers cents at FV, please PM me prior. I will be more than happy to help you out in your time of want/need/have to.

Ya know, a cheap rock tumbler makes those dirty coppers shine like new in about 30 mins!
