I bought one of the separators off ebay for 50 bucks. I built a small frame for it and picked up a bag of pennies from the local bank. (they save me the half dollar bag but that only fills every 9 months or so) I ran a bag but added all the pennies I had around the house, so I could not figure a %.. I bought a second bag, ran it, and took the zincs to a dump bank and had 36 dollars in zinc. so my first count is 28%. Not too bad. I am working on a hopper system for the separator and when that is done, I will be able to do 2 or 3 bags a week, time permitting.
My biz is slow in the winter, so I will have time over the next couple months to get myself a small hoard in the basement. Thanks to everyone who posts here for the hints and posts about sorting. (My wife curses you all though) Diggin

16%, that's a real bummer, I do see a time when that will be the norm nationwide. I thankfully have been harvesting 28-30 %

30% is great. I average 22.5%

28% has been the average around me for a while. hopefully that continues. just wait i bet your two or three bags a week will turn into two or three a day amd thats when your wife will really go nuts.

At least your wife knows what you are doing. And you aren't blowing a lot of money.. when you are all done sorting.. you still have all your money.

16% is pretty depressing . I'm at 25% and am thinking that it won't be for a few years until we get down to the 15% range or so.
