LCS is selling "junk" wheat cents at $0.02/each

These are bent, corroded, have grime on them, or other flaws but are mostly intact otherwise for the copper content. They have a few hundred at this price and I thought about buying them all but held off. What do you guys think? Worth getting (keep in mind we have to pay 5.5% sales tax on top of it)?

If that's all they've got going for them, then no.
Be assured, the coin shop has screened them for every possible variety. So you're not likely to find something they missed. Damaged common Wheats are worth melt, same as any common copper Memorial.

Bent and corroded? Sorry, but they're only worth the Cu metal value, which right now is 0.016 cents each.
A few years ago I bought 32,000, 1964 Canadian cents still in RCM bank bags for face value. They're all MS condition.

I can't match the 32,000...but 6000 64's fits in one photo

How'd you ever manage that? I found mine in CT, on craigslist. The guy actually bought them back in '64 or '65 on a trip to Canada. Sat unopened in his workshop for the next 47 years.

I would pass on these but check what other cheap coins are available. Do they have any foreign coins? Lots of LCS have junk bins with deals like 3 or 4 or more coins for a dollar. Might be silver in there, too!

LCS owner knew a older hoarder who was getting rid of all his Canadian stuff. I was in the right place at the right time I guess. I've always loved Canadian coins. They're even better now, since the pennies are not minted anymore.
I haven't seen them in years, so I just pulled them out to take a look at them. I lied, I actually have 6 bags... 36,000
