Die Pair #1:
• The easiest way to classify Die Pair #1 is the Jogging Die
Crack running from L in Pluribus through O in One.
However, this die crack is not always present. Also, be
aware that there exists a 1922 D variety with a straight die
crack in the same location.

Here is a pic of mine! From the L in Pluribus thru the O in ONE.. you can see the other one by the Right stalk at the top coming from the rim..
Anyone think I should get this authenticated?..

I would have to see the obverse (front) of the coin to, but my opinion is no. Getting it autheticated would allow you to sell it for more, but the Type 1 (the type I think you have) is worth the least about of the three types. Type ones are actually considered 22 D's so this is what a regular 22 should have looked like. The type 2 and 3 coins are considered "errors".

I am not trying to knock your coin or anything because its still a great find, but thats just my two copper cents worth of opinion.

Some good information can be found here http://lincolncentresource.com/1922Ddievarieties.html The die crack is there on most of the Type 1 1922 D's I would say its more rare for a type 1 NOT to have one than it is to have one. I am not an expert but I studied up on the 22's quite a bit when I bought one out of a collection.

Oh, OK, I thought you thought I had a no D penny... Thanks, I saw in a book and online that some 22ds had the die crack.. I thought it might be rare since the Ebay auction was for crazy money.. thanks.. Diggin
