At what price level would you stop sorting on your own and start buying?

Of course everyone would select the lowest level but I want to know the high point....not the low point.

i would always sort if I saw point in it. if there wasn't a point to sort myself then their wouldn't be a point in buying. But I have a ryedale, so sorting isn't as much work as it was handsorting

Yes, there is alwas a point in sorting. What I am getting at is at what price point do you find it no longer feasible to sort on your own. Meaning that its just easier/cheaper for you to buy it instead of sort it.

I try and buy in addition to sorting and try and get the best "below market" price

Rode,
I will sell you a bunch at 1.25x face. But you have to pick it up...
And it will be mixed with zinc stuff. At about 4 zinc to every copper...
Any takers?

Ya, my thinking is with the 30% + i can get sorting it's a do it now and as long as I can. I wouldn't want to pass on sorting and just buy then later have the easy sorting opportunities gone. If anything, I would buy and sort.

Honestly, if I were given the chance to buy copper at 1.1x face or sort it out of circulation, I'd sort it.

I'm not looking to "back up the truck" with copper. I want a hobby that is fun, exciting, and pays off. Wheats, Indian Heads, the clink clink clink of the Ryedale...I really wouldn't want to give that up.

I like handsorting. The wheats, the king and queen, the occasional starfish, dirty dimes, dirty fingers, the bacteria infested table top, those semi and for dam sure toxic Zincers, squinting thru the reading glasses and magnifying glass...And sippin some suds.

Highroller... you're asking the wrong people. Forum members are diehard sorters. You need to ask newbies and well-healed silver and gold hoarders who want to diversify but don't have the time or energy to devote to the pursuit one cent at a time.

People who want to get into copper but don't have the time to sort will buy at the "normal" prices.

I am looking at more for a price from the Ryedale sorters and some serious hand sorters. I am just curious thats all. :)
