I don't hand-sort much anymore and have never been a seller (just building a small personal stash with a goal of @200 lbs.), but isn't about time that we broke above 1.6x on pennies given the price of copper? Or will $3.50 have to become the new normal before people bite? Certainly $4 will cause some excitement if it gets there, right? I think people are looking now at total system collapse rather than simply high inflation so the interest is mostly in gold right now, and also silver to an extent, whereas copper is a hedge against inflation, but not economic turmoil per se.

Many members here would love to see us break above 1.6x again. But until supplies at 1.3, 1.33 and 1.35 are absorbed, you will not see the higher prices.

I agree. People will always sell at lower than market prices, but they won't be able to keep a steady supply at the lower prices. As the price of copper goes up, the demand for 1.3 will increase to where they can't keep up and they will raise their prices.

Looks like CU cents are starting to move up. Seems current bid is 1.4x and ask is 1.5x.

what were you guys getting when CU was $4+?

I was getting 2.25x

Not very many.. till they saw the prices I was getting. Then the market got flooded with sellers.. and the price dropped accordingly.
