I gotta have a box or two......but, I will wait until they are common and you can get them easily like the 2010's.
there will always be people who will pay a premium to be the first to have them.....I would put them on ebay. I think that is good advice. You only have a short window until that opportunity is gone.

What can I say, it rains shield pennies where I live. Honestly I would rather get copper but I can't be picky with the banks about what they hand me or they will cut me off.

I picked up 22 boxes today at two banks....no new pennies...I may need to drive up, newton, and trade ya....then on ebay they go.

i just wish i was in a position to take advantage of other people's willingness to part with their money for something of no worth.

Thanks for all the kind words from the group. After a long 2 days of checking, only one other box located. There here, just not were we can get to them just yet. I plan on sharing my extras with the group as I'm betting the money will dry up soon on ebay. When I started there was only 3 up and now there are 12 for sale. What a difference 24 hours makes. I'm going to post the second box tonight.

You're not the ignorant one, the buyers that are paying the premiums are.

Think of it this way.

Your a coin shop owner and you have certain customers who want new pennies and are willing to pay 2 or 3 dollars a roll right now. You have no where to get them but off ebay and you inturn flip them to your customers.
or
You heard a rumor about the new 2011s might have an error that has gotten past the mint and is in the early releases that already made it to the market.
or
You the kind of guy who does not have time to mess around and it is cheaper to just buy the box then go bank to bank to bank waisting your time like me.

I think we all have paid a little to much for something somewhere at some time. I know I have. But most of the time I justified it one way or another. And if my purchase makes me happy or really happy then I'm OK with that.

Found my first 2011 last night while hand sorting. Kinda depressing, actually, as that just means it's one more year that I DON'T want. The bright side is, I won't have ANOTHER year (2012) to dump for another 11-13 months.

Another depressing moment came when I was only getting 5%-12% copper out of the $25 box last night. Never had such low percentages.
