Time to get the Ryedale humming?

In the PM downturn, rising 10 year bond rates, increasing inflationary expectations, what may have got lost in the shuffle is the dramatic rise in the price of COPPER. Yes indeed, COPPER has risen 50ยข to $2.75; over 20% in a very short time. Why? I think financial markets are beginning to factor in massive President Trump American infrastructure construction. COPPER has languished as Chinese construction has stalled in the last few years. How much impact would American construction add to COPPER in the next few years? And why not? Construction is what Trump knows how to do!
If fulfilled, money flows should increase causing inflation to a greater degree. IMHO, the idea that increased inflation is bad for PMs will probably be reversed soon.

I figured if we waited loing enough and held onto our hoards, the market would eventually come back
My Ryedales never stopped humming. Not sure I am ready to kick production back up to 100 boxes per week again yet.

I haven't sorted in about a year. However, I have the week off and have 8-10 unsorted bags. Maybe I will sort some bags tomorrow.

I used to enjoy sorting, had four Ryedale's at one time. Was like a Pachinko parlor with all the noise. It was fun while it lasted, but nothing lasts forever.
When the banks wanted to start charging ridiculous fees for boxes I could read the handwriting on the wall and got out.
Heck, I think even Andy was trying to sell his business. Never heard what came of that. It was a great idea for its time

For those who think that inflation is bad for metals, they only need to look at the run up metals had before reaching then all-time highs in January, 1980 (gold at $875ish and silver at $50+). Inflation was a big problem in the large 70's and early 80's. So take that!
The issue is that there are literally dozens of other things that affect the price of PM's, so you can't look at just one and think you have a complete picture.
(My apologies- didn't mean to go astray- this was a thread about Ryedales!)

Even at $4, it wasn't great. The melt ban's here to stay. You can make a small profit shipping CTUs, but I want to melt these things. Tell me when it hits $7. I think that's about what it would take to liquidate the sea of copper pennies we have now.

I'd love to cast a bronze cannon/mortar that launches beer can sized objects, but need way more knowledge.
I still get a warm feeling inside when I put aside $25 worth of copper cents that are immune to Wall St., Pennsylvania Ave., 20th Street and Constitution Avenue NW, and Park Ave.
I just brought home $30 worth to prime the Ryedale with.

Copper at 3.50 # I will sell both of My units
If that continued for One year it could drive Down the price of PMs because a lot of PMs are byproducts of Base Metal Mining. But I fear the Miners would go Ape.

At the risk of repeating myself too much (have said this several times but it's been awhile), like John I like having the copper cents that I kept (27 bags worth). I did refine the holdings to only superclean coin and returned the balance (used it to buy silver) just in time before TD killed their coin counters. What I kept is very hard to get now and I won't be parting with it except for an emergency (it's intended purpose as a store of wealth). I still save the occasional cent out of pocket change that meets my standards. My days of volume sorting might be done but... never say never. I may pick it back up again when I have more time later.

I still sort out the pre-1982's when I'm waiting in a drive thru. The only time I will do it.

I still have evrything I hoarded, maybe $500-$700 face (I really don't know). I still save coppers from change, but that's like a dollar a year (I don't buy much). Sometimes I get the urge to search a new bag, because I really do enjoy it, but I honestly don't want any more copper right now, and hate to just pull out a couple dozen wheats and throw the rest back.

If I'm still up, I'll run the $30 thru at midnight. Maybe I'll post the first of the year Indian.
