If he ever learns of this "cent" you speak of, he will surely get rid of it.

I don't think this will ever be high enough on the priority list though he is business savvy enough to actually do it if the topic ever makes it to the agenda

I think he wants to shake things up in a very visible way and this would be something he could do to get some quick attention. He could say something like "Obama should have done this many years ago, but I'm different!"

Well, perhaps I'll write The Donald a letter once he gets into office.

If it happens I am not so sure it will be Trump that makes the call. The U.S mint has not had an official director since Edmond Moy stepped down in 2011! Obama failed to make an official appointment. If Trump makes the appointment and tells them to figure out how to save money, than I believe it will happen. My guess is 2018-2019 might be the year.
