Allow me to introduce myself

Hello all. I've been lurking for a couple of months and finally decided to jump in to the forum. I've actually been a CU hoarder since the mid to late 80's. Mind you I was a kid at the time, but my mom told me about the switch to zinc when it happened and she started saving her CU and I did the same. She remembered the silver craziness of the early 80's when it was near $50 per oz and she believed it would happen to copper someday too. I have no idea how much she has saved in nearly the 30 years since the switch, but I imagine it's a lot. As for me I gave up the hoarding back in '06. I was hurting for cash, copper was around $2.00 per pound and I didn't see it as ever being worth the space and back breaking to keep moving boxes of pennies every time I moved. So I cashed in nearly $1000 in all copper to a local bank for greenbacks. OOPS.
Anyways a few months ago I was going through eBay and I saw that CU cents wee selling for almost 2X FV. After kicking my own rear end for selling out five years too soon, I jumped in. I've hand sorted a few boxes and getting about 28% right now. Sold a couple of 10 lb lots on the bay and netted between 1.4 and 1.5 after fees and shipping. Got an order in for a comparator. I'm going to build a ryedale like machine and I hope to be sorting a couple hundred a week within the next few months. Not gonna quit my day job, but if anyone wants to pay me $1.50 for something I can get for $1.00, I'm all about it.
Just thought I'd say hi and I look forward to learning by doing.
