I've seen a completly blank planchet before,
but this cent is a 1947 s obverse + blank planchet reverse.
i does not look like the reverse was sanded/ ground off..
it weighs 3.3 grams.
the reverse looks kind of silvery, like a '43 steel.
but it is not magnetic.
any ideas what i have ??
did i find my retirement ?? JK

did you check the edge and around the rims for a seam? 3.3 grams is a little heavy for a copper cent, my guess is it's manmade like a two-headed coin.
It is possible though to get a one-sided coin if 2 blank planchets get fed into the press at the same time. One will have the obverse design and the other will have the reverse design.
