Worth Separating?

Hi All,
I've been sorting about $100 a month, small time, and after I put the pennies through the comparitor I cherry pick the "nice" ones and set them aside along with any wheats in case they have some numismatic value down the road. I wanted to ask if it's worth separating the remaining pre-1982's into years and mint marks and rolling them that way? Or is that just a big waste of time?
Thanks,
Ray

Not worth it generally. Although "S mints" and "red" are definitely worth taking out.

Also if you do a "D mint" sort you can get a small premium on that as well.

I heard something that 1966, 1969 and 1971 (all no mintmark) has 'somewhat' of a numis value. Not wheats or 'S mint' mind you, but it cant hurt.

Agree with barry. I also hand sort for San Frans. Once in a while, if I'm getting consistently nice BU cents of a particular year out of a box I'll put them aside in a tube or two. Zinc usually, but I bought 3 string boxes a month ago at one branch and they were loaded with new or almost new 1980 Philadelphias. Saved almost 4 rolls.

Not by itself...but, batch it up with 99 others and someone will trade you more than $1 for them.

Collectors of anything want:

First
Last
Set
Hoard
