Does anyone hoard unsearched boxes/bags for future resell?

I believe some of the nickel guys do. Don't know as if anyone is with the cents. $1000 in unsearched box form means tying up approx. $750 in zinc...although, I could see maybe getting a small premium for them if/when the banks really clamp down with limits or increased fees. Even then you'd have to deal with shipping fees, so copper would have to climb quite a bit more to make that work.

I don't see a point to buying a bag on someone's claim it has not been searched, and an easy way for the seller to leave himself open to claims he is a cheat.

The boxes would be easier to say unsearched, but like Morsecode said, you're tying up a lot of capital just having it sitting around.

Unless it was someone on Realcent with a long history of activity or someone I knew personally to be straight with me, I just couldn't trust someone else's claim of "unsearched". I'd never buy off eBay from an unknown seller claiming something was "unsearched". It seems you would be limiting your resale market by trying to sell something unsearched.

Not in any significant quantities

But I do hoard a few.. usually for a week or 2 until I get them sorted.

I sell a lot of unsearched things. I once sold a Brinks box of unsearched pennies on eBay for 34.95 plus shipping.

Unsorted is a tempting thought, but its like the lottery ticket for coin people. Waste of money and I feel most people are less than honest about it.
