Just took a look at copper charts. Wow, they are looking pretty good right now. Just curious if anyone is having any luck with the copper cent market? I'm realizing my interests are definitely mainly in silver these days.

If only there were a Portland Mint branch located in the North East.

I unloaded mine at my local bank. Converted funds to silver and have made more on it than I ever did flipping an occasional CTU.

I noticed today the nickel is reaching par as well.

Kitco shows the nickel is worth 98% of face value.

I am in the midwest. Still been buying - stacking and/or piling. Just bought 120,000 a few weeks ago!

My smokin hot wife 'let' me sell my cents when we moved. But now she yells NO when I mention that I might sell some silver.

Wonder if this will poke the process of melting copper pennies a little further forward, and make our coins more valuable (finally).

I swear these internet business articles are written quickly and with very little thought or research. I just skimmed the CNN article but I saw no mention of the push for the "Green New Deal". They mention infrastructure spending but the Trump administration was also pushing for spending on infrastructure and growing the economy. But its the Biden administration that seems to be convincing all the Auto manufacturers to announce that they are going to go all electric. There is 5 times more copper in an electric car. Imagine if GM actual did go all electric by 2035! Not to mention all the wind mills, solar farms...

Hey all, I’ve been lurking but rarely post. Things have been so upended for me in 2020 & 2021..... my PC where I spent many hours behind finally broke, and every bit of internet I see is now through my phone, so typing posts are now a chore since I can only use my overly large, fat and stubby thumb. Anyhow m, I hope this upward tick in metal prices , especially silver and copper will spur new interest in realcent. Maybe we will gain a whole new set of new members and hopefully some of our long missing friends will return. I have had some health issues over the past year and have now recovered and am staying busy with my now three year old son and trying to stay fit and healthy through this unusual time we now live in. Anyway, I hope we start to see more activity here going forward, maybe like the old days. I do expect to be posting here more often and look forward to the future.

Good to have you back! Site activity does seem to pick up with the rise in PM prices. It would be nice to see some new members join in.

Welcome back frugi. Seems a lot of veterans may do drive bys. A few will periodically post. We could use a shot in the arm to restore the enthusiasm of days gone by. Don't be a stranger.

Just noticed coppers are valued at over 2.5 x Face. Surprised there isn't more people buying CTUs or new comers getting the copper bug.

Wow! I remember those days where it was $1500.00 in pennies a week. So much sorting and returning.

I am noticing copper cent sales on ebay picking up dramatically. Another sign of the times. Of course "dramatically" is easy to use here as sales on ebay for bulk copper had dried up over the last few years.

Anyhow, I turned in my copper stack a while back and bought gold and silver with it. At least I went from one hard asset to another.

That would at the very least reduce the volume of metal I have...

I'm not sure that there isn't a delayed reaction to copper prices before newbies figure it out and join in. We'll see. Of course the cent mining is less lucrative than it was 10 years ago. Harder to source coin. Lower yields. But the market is still there. Funny how no one wants copper at 2.50 or silver at 14, but people line up to buy at 4.50 and 30.

Canadian Copper pennies are now up to around 3 cents melt
