Ok, I have sorted $50.00 face value worth of 95% Cu cent for me. $50.00 face value for my parents and have another $50.00 or so hanging around. I am done sorting.

If you were me would you try and sell them, trade them or bring them back to the bank.

Or you could sort more and hoard more. If you can find someone to buy them for more than face value that would be cool if you were looking to make a profit for your efforts.

I am into physical Silver...

I have 10 pounds of .999 nickel bullion, 2 $100 boxes of nickles, 20 pounds of .999 Cu bullion and the said 5 $25.00 boxes of sorted 95% copper cents. All this metal is heavy!!! I think I have enough for any one single guy to try and manage. Why do you think I should have more, Barry?

No reason, just most people don't have such small "goal amounts". Naturally your goal total is up to you. It's just not the norm. That was all.

And the prevailing thought here is "1 more box" as the goal :)

LOL I am like that with Silver bullion, but I can't afford to buy it with an ever expanding Ni and Cu hoard eating into my budget. :)

Better get a box trailer to carry it all in.

If you are done sorting and don't want to keep them then I would either sell them or trade them. You would get more for them that way than just taking them back to the bank for face value.

I am waiting for Cu to go over .03 melt again and try and sell maybe one box of them at 2x face value. I am in for the long haul (no pun inteneded) for the majority of what I have. I just don't pay near enough attention to the base metals as I should. Thanks to everyone here for your insights.

Well, one reason to sort copper is the supply is cheap, and easy. One thing you might consider is selling your excess copper, and quietly upgrading to silver. I feel silver will be the metal to own, if TSHTF, one dime being about a loaf bread. Gold, while wonderful, is a bit rich. Nice for somethings, but too rich for day to day.

anyways, I would, once you sell the copper you consider excess, put that into silver, then go back to sorting copper, and stay on the lookout for opportunities. Sometimes a lack of a tight plan is a sign of an open mind :)

Thanks Rick, I'll take stock of that. You too Doc. I didn't even mention SHTF. The long term food prep is taking it's toll on my budget. Not to mention the fact that a Dollar will not buy a dimes worth of anything...

If you happen to live in the Phoenix area, I'll buy them or trade you silver :)

That's appreciated Derek, but I'm in Florida. I think I am just gonna park them all and forget about them until I read about how valuable Ni and Cu currency has become. :)

That's what I would do too. Depending on what happens to the price of copper and nickel, you can always change your mind!

All the best,
Derek
